Bob writes: Here is a list of the club runners in this years London Marathon. I have also added the times of some former club runners that also competed at London.
It is especially pleasing to see the top three names on the list. Patrick Riley taking part in his first marathon ran a remarkable 3 hr 1 min 9 sec.
Tantalisingly close to the 3 hour mark, but that’s a target for next time.
Both Martin Shortall and Rob Brown managed to beat the three and a half hour mark for the first time.
Martin won the club place back in December and has been well rewarded with his 3 hr 25 min 22 sec, but Rob played it much closer beat the 3.5 hrs by just 10 seconds
Simon Beresford, ably supported by John Dawson completed the course in 5 hr 44 min.
That’s about half an hour quicker than last year and with Simon being the first person with Downs Syndrome to complete the marathon I think that deserves special congratulation
