Bob Houghton writes: A message from John Dawson on his fund raising efforts for The Down’s Syndrome Association. If you can attend to help fellow club members in raising funds then please try to get along. Both John and Simon are members of Lichfield Running Club.
Simon Beresford and John Dawson are both running the London Marathon to raise money for The Down’s Syndrome Association.
As last year, when it was a complete sell out, they are organising a fund raising evening on Saturday 5th April at Holy Cross Church Hall, Lichfield at 7.30 pm. Tickets are £12.00 each which will include a hot supper cooked by John’s wife Cora. Those who came to John’s 100 marathon party will remember the spread - so please do not miss it.
Live music will be provided by ‘Off The Hook’. The hall has a fully licensed bar and there will be a Tombola and Raffle. All costs, including food, have been donated so all proceeds will go direct to The Down’s Syndrome Association.
Following his success last year Simon has become the ‘Face’ of Down’s Syndrome and is an inspiration to everyone with Down’s and their families. Please come and ‘Join the Fun’ and help him keep up this good work.
